POLICE are hunting the driver of a car which evaded officers before a night of carnage on a rural property.
About midnight on Wednesday, police attempted to intercept a 4WD which ran a red light in Torrington before fleeing from the marked vehicle.
Turning down a rural road, the driver of the white 4WD ploughed through a number of fences on the property, smashing gates and narrowly avoiding cattle on the 300-acre block.
But the driver's run from the law came to a sudden stop when they slammed into the dry wall of an abandoned quarry at the rear of the property.
Uniformed police and the Toowoomba Dog Squad were called in to track the offender who made a run for it on foot.
The property owner was told to lock the doors and remain inside while police investigated.
However the offender managed to flee from police and remains on the run.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
