The atmosphere was electric at the Fairholme College Spring Fair, whether you were seeking a thrill on the rides or a sugar hit at the fairy floss stall.
But the most popular attraction on the day was the chance to dunk teachers and parents in a freezing cold tub of water.
Among the 12 brave contenders stepping up to get dunked was the Member for Groom Garth Hamilton, as well as Councillor Edwina Farquhar and digital tech teacher Matt Collyer.
“Some of us were volunteered for the role - more so than volunteering ourselves - but it was a lot of fun and a nice way to contribute to the community,” Mr Collyer said.
“A pretty long queue started to form to dunk the teachers … I think the students enjoyed it a bit too much.”
All for a good cause, the proceeds raised through the dunking machine will be donated to the school’s P&F Association.
Mr Collyer who has worked at the school for the past two years and was dressed in a sombrero and poncho on the day, said the event was a wonderful way to celebrate the school community.
“I was at the fair wearing two hats - well three if you count the sombrero - as a staff member and a parent,” he said.
“My daughter Imogen who attends the Fairholme kindy absolutely loved it.”
