MOTORCYCLST Tyler Lionel John Kelly just about hit the jackpot of things to do wrongly when he jumped onto his motorcycle to go for a ride last month.
A police patrol pulled over the 24-year-old as he rode his 125cc motorbike on the Toowoomba Connection Road at Withcott about 2pm, September 4.
Not only was he not wearing a helmet, the motorcycle he was riding was unregistered and uninsured and Kelly was unlicensed and had been drinking the Withcott Hotel, Toowoomba Magistrates Court heard.
He blew a breath/alcohol reading of 0.05 and checks of the bike found it was defective in that it had no indicating lights.
Police prosecutor Sergeant Natalie Bugden told the court the 24-year-old's licence had been suspended from July 8 to October 7.
The self-represented Kelly pleaded guilty to driving without a licence repeat offender, having a safe but otherwise defective vehicle, driving an unregistered, uninsured vehicle, failing to wear a helmet and drink-driving.
Kelly told the court he was about to leave for Rockhampton for work.
Magistrate Graham Lee fined him a total $1300 and disqualified him from holding or obtaining a driver's licence for six months.
