O'Hara Sullivan reveals who backed her council campaign

TOOWOOMBA Regional Councillor Megan O’Hara Sullivan revealed four political donations during her election campaign.

TOOWOOMBA Regional Councillor Megan O'Hara Sullivan revealed four political donations during her election campaign totalling $2170.

Showing her Labor backing, Chris Meibusch donated $1000 and Kerry Shine pitched in $1100 towards securing her seat.

Mr Shine was the long serving Labor member for Toowoomba North from 2001 until 2012.

The person or group behind the final $70 donated was not listed as donations less than $200 do not require disclosure. 

Mr Meibusch ran for the federal seat of Groom in 2007 and in 2010, losing both times to retiring Liberal member Ian Macfarlane. 

Each candidate from the election is required to publicly disclose their donations to the Electoral Commission of Queensland within 15 weeks, by Monday, July 4.

Candidate Chis McGaw received $67,291.52 in donations exclusively from union funds.

Councillor's Joe Ramia, Anne Glasheen and James O'Shea have submitted their donation list for the election, citing no donations received towards there elections.

Cos Marendy, Murray Choat, Garry Humphries, Heather Woodcraft and Rob Berry also returned empty disclosure lists.

Mayor Paul Antonio's 2016 election donations ledger has not yet been released.
