Woman in her 60s rushed to hospital after being struck by car

A female pedestrian aged in her 60s was rushed to hospital on Monday morning, after she was hit by a car on Pittwater Rd, between Narrabeen and Collaroy.

A female pedestrian, aged in her 60s, has been hit by a car on Pittwater Rd, between Narrabeen and Collaroy, near the intersection with Ramsay St, at 7.35am on Monday.

NSW Ambulance reports the woman suffered serious head and leg injuries.

Two southbound lanes on Pittwater Rd were closed, with traffic backing up to Wakehurst Parkway at Narrabeen.

An emergency medical helicopter was called to the scene. It landed on a football oval on Homestead Ave, Long Reef.

The woman was stabilised at the scene by the NSW Ambulance helicopter medical team and paramedics before being taken to Royal North Shore Hospital, by ambulance, in a stable condition.
