Women live longer than men - that is the age old proverb – but a swathe of suburbs across Greater Sydney are bucking this trend, with new data to prove it.
The latest figures from a long running research project, set to go under the microscope at a suburban level in The Sunday Telegraph this week, has revealed the average age of death of residents in every suburb across NSW.

However, the data has also uncovered the western Sydney communities where men are outliving women – even if it is just by an average of six to twelve months.
The Torrens University data revealed suburbs including Agnes Banks, Berkshire Park, Londonderry, and Yarramundi have recorded that, on average, men outlive women by 6 months to the age of 73.
While in the Hunter suburbs of Seaham and Woodville, as well as the southwest Sydney communities of Claymore, Gregory Hills, and Varroville, men are living a year longer than women.
