Tens of thousands of eager racegoers are streaming through the gates of Royal Randwick Racecourse in Sydney’s east as they gear up for the $30 million TAB Everest.

The Saturday Telegraph confirmed the richest race on turf would see sold-out crowd of more than 40,000 racing fans, as Destination NSW chair Sally Loane revealed she will look to supercharge infrastructure to support more than 50,000 people expected for the 2025 race.

Food lovers are expected to devour more than 14,000 plates of food at The Everest today, from 900kg of smoked brisket prepared to more than 10,000 cocktail pies served through the crowds.
