Sheep warnings, rain: what the weather will be like at your place this weekend

A beautiful sunrise over Maroubra beach may have signalled the last taste of summer for some time, with showers to set in until Wednesday.
But the wet weekend is at odds with the Bureau of Meteorology’s 30-day forecast predicting “below average” rainfall for May until July.
It has also slated “Warmer than average May to July days and nights likely across most of Australia”.
WEEKEND FORECAST
Light winds and maximum temperatures of 20C on Friday and 22C on Saturday and Sunday would have been good for getting laundry dry – except for the showers.
It will be dry inland, according to the Bureau of Meteorology.
In Sydney there is an 80 per cent chance of rain on Friday, 70 per cent on Saturday and 60 per cent on Sunday.
Coastal Sydney has a higher chance of copping the wet weather while greater Sydney will be cloudy until Wednesday.
Newcastle and the Central Coast will be warm – temperatures hovering between 20C and 23C until Wednesday – with a high chance of showers on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with a medium chance of showers on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
In the Illawarra, cloudy skies and a consistent medium chance of showers are to be expected.
The warmest day will be Tuesday with a top of 22C.
SHEEP WARNING
Snowy Mountains graziers have been warned that Friday will be so cold that lambs and sheep are at risk as a cold front moves through the region.
Cooma, Perisher and Thredbo are in for minimum temperatures below zero until Sunday, while it will be slightly warmer in Jindabyne and Cabramurra.
