Occupants of a northwest Sydney home safely evacuated from their property after neighbours alerted them their roof was on fire following a suspected electrical fault.
Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) responded to reports of the fire in King St Riverstone just after 1pm on Friday after the occupants called triple-0 from outside the home.
The blaze was in the roof space and ceiling, and quickly spread to the second level.
Firefighters battled the fire inside the dwelling but their efforts were hampered when the roof partially collapsed.
Crews extinguished the blaze within an hour and there were no reported injuries.
“Fire and Rescue NSW and NSW Police are currently investigating the cause of the fire but it is believed to be electrical in nature,” a FRNSW spokesperson said.
