Police have the names of a number of students who were present during an alleged hazing-style incident in which a Scots College schoolmate claims he was made to walk down a human tunnel while being physically and verbally abused as beer was poured over him.

Detectives, who visited the elite school on Monday, also have footage of the incident, as well as separate footage of teenagers being forced to skol alcohol in a secluded spot at Woollahra Golf Club on Saturday afternoon.

The 17-year-old student from the eastern suburbs school was allegedly chased down Manion St in Rose Bay, where a woman spotted him looking distressed.

The teenager made a statement to police that evening.

He has since been re-interviewed by police.

He alleged he was forced to carry a flag bearing the acronym “BOB” and run the gauntlet of other youths, who called him a “fat c**t’’, and doused him with alcohol.

BOB stands for “boys on beer” and refers to gatherings held on Australia Day and toward the end of the school year.

No charges have been laid and police said the teen was not injured.

The boy’s mother told The Daily Telegraph she hoped “justice is done” and had “complete faith in the detectives handling the case”.

She said Scots principal Ian Lambert contacted her yesterday.

In his police statement, the teenager said he was included in a Snapchat group where there was talk of the upcoming “Bob Awards”.

“My son thought he was being invited as part of the group and was essentially lured to the gathering,” his mother said.

The teen was only told of the location on Saturday morning, following five or six days in which he told police “the chat within the group began to increase”.

As he approached the golf course he was met by two boys who pointed him to a secluded area, hidden by trees.

He told police he was offered a beer, but did not accept it, before being forced down the human tunnel, where he was also verbally abused.

Dr Lambert said the school had begun an internal investigation and was reviewing all available footage and information.

“Consequences will follow for the students involved … and possible outcomes include expulsion,” he said.

“Representative opportunities in sport, leadership and co-curricular programs for those involved will also be reviewed.”

Dr Lambert said the behaviour was “completely unacceptable” and he was “disappointed and disgusted”, adding that the incident occurring off campus and outside school hours did not “lessen its seriousness”.

He said the Bellevue Hill school, one of the most expensive in the country, charging fees of more than $46,000 for Year 12 students, was also co-operating with police.
