A Justice Advocacy Service volunteer, who helps others in court, has lost her own fight to keep her licence due to her poor driving record.

Coffs Harbour Local Court heard Mimosa Grace Lambarlow, 26, was clocked driving 135km/h in a 100km/h zone and had seven speeding offences on her driving record.

On Tuesday, the Sapphire Beach resident lost her appeal for a licence suspension issued on July 25 after she breached a good behaviour licence.

A good behaviour licence is for drivers who have exceeded their demerit point limit.

Defence solicitor Mr Cox said the behaviour was “very out of character” and that Lambarlow was “learning a hard lesson”.

Mr Cox told the court she had previously been given a longer suspension than usual due to her poor traffic history.

While defence submissions included that she volunteered with Justice Advocacy Service and held a Certificate IV in Community Services, Magistrate Philip Stewart was not convinced.

He described her driving history as a “terrible licence record”.

Mr Stewart dismissed Lambarlow’s licence appeal at Coffs Harbour Local Court on Tuesday October 21.

The suspension continues until March 31 2026.
