A 23-year-old man will remain behind bars on remand after he allegedly groomed a teenage girl online and was caught with child abuse material.
Jake Dylan John Sidney was arrested at an Oran Park home YESTERDAY (Tuesday) after police executed a search warrant at the home just after 9.30am.
The raid was sparked by an investigation following reports of a 13-year-old girl allegedly communicating with a man not known to her on social media.
It is alleged the two had been communicating over a three-day period and intimate images had been exchanged.
Police seized a number of electronic devices during the search, which they allege contained an undisclosed number of files containing child abuse material.
Sidney was then taken to nearby Narellan Police Station and later charged with four offences including procuring a child under 14-years-old for unlawful sexual activity, procuring a child under 14-years-old to produce child abuse material and two counts of possessing child abuse material.
He was refused police bail to appear at the Campbelltown Local Court on Wednesday to make an application for bail.
Sidney, however, did not make an application for bail, nor did he enter any pleas.
Instead, he was remanded in custody and is next expected to face court on Wednesday, September 17.
