NSW Liberal leader Kellie Sloane will unveil a revamped shadow cabinet before Christmas, declaring that her mark of success will be nothing less than a victory in 2027.

While keeping her cards close to her chest on major policy announcements, Ms Sloane has already indicated she is “open” to compromise on an issue that has set small business against the Coalition.

Now a week into the top job, Ms Sloane has declared that her mark of success as Liberal leader will be a Coalition victory when voters next go to the polls.

“I won’t accept anything less,” she told the Telegraph.

“I think we can save the furniture and buy a few more pieces to furnish the house. I’m not going into this with anything but a winning mindset.”

As she prepares to reshuffle her frontbench, Ms Sloane has been hesitant to make any policy announcements.

However, she said she is prepared to “compromise” on workers’ compensation reform, which has driven a wedge between the Liberals and the business community.

Reform has been stalled after the Coalition refused to support increasing the threshold at which psychologically injured workers get permanent compensation payments.

“What I will do is have genuine conversations with colleagues and see if there’s anything more we can do to push the needle on this,” Ms Sloane said.

In an email to colleagues on Thursday, Ms Sloane thanked Liberals for their “support, goodwill, and professionalism”.

She said she had hired long-time Liberal operative Luke Nayna as acting chief of staff.
