Parts of Australia to experience some warm weather

Favourable weather conditions will allow for planned hazard reduction burns to be conducted across northern Sydney and parts of the Central Coast today.

NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) has confirmed there will be controlled fires at Penrith, the Hills district, Northern Beaches and Ku-ring-gai.

They warned residents of smoky conditions during the day, posting to X: “Fire agencies and land managers are undertaking a number of hazard reduction burns in northern Sydney today, including in Roseville Chase, Killarney Heights and North Epping.

“Smoke from these burns is likely to settle in surrounding suburbs, before being cleared by forecast winds tomorrow.”

Sky News weather presenter Rhiannon Elston said temperatures were to increase across the east coast on Wednesday, rising to the “late 20s” later in the day, which will be mostly sunny with light winds.
