Dubbo: Man to be accounted for, house destroyed after overnight horror inferno

A man is yet to be accounted for after a home near Dubbo burned to the ground in a raging fire overnight. Here’s what we know.

A man is yet to be accounted for after a home near Dubbo was burned to the ground in a raging fire overnight.

Emergency services were called to Mendooran Rd, Brocklehurst – 10km north of Dubbo – about 6.40pm Tuesday, following llowing reports of a structure fire.

NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) officers arrived to find the house well alight, before working to extinguish the blaze.

Despite their best efforts, the home was destroyed and the structure collapsed.

NSW Police have since revealed a man, believed to be in his 60s, is yet to be accounted for.

However, they said there were currently no reports of injuries.

A crime scene has been established by Orana Mid Western Police District officers and investigations into the cause of the blaze are ongoing.
