Restoration efforts by nbn are continuing across the Northern Territory following the impacts to around 1000 services because of Tropical Cyclone Fina.
The majority of nbn services impacted are due to commercial power outages affecting nbn® network infrastructure.
As mains power is progressively restored, services are coming back online.
The number of impacted services is around 1,000 in the areas of Acacia Hills, Bees Creek, Berry Springs, Blackmore, Coolalinga, Darwin River, Fannie Bay, Fly Creek, Freds Pass, Girraween, Herbert, Holtze, Howard Springs, Hughes, Humpty Doo, Johnston, Lambells Lagoon, Livingstone, Lloyd Creek, McMinns Lagoon, Noonamah, Rosebery, Southport, Tumbling Waters, Virginia, Weddell and Zuccoli.
Further restoration will occur as generators are deployed to key sites where it is safe to do so and as power continues to return.
The advice for homes and businesses experiencing a nbn outage is:
•Check the nbn Network Status page: https://www.nbn.com.au/network-status
•If no outage is shown for your area, restart your nbn equipment:
•Turn off your nbn connection box and modem/ Wi-Fi router
•Wait at least 2 minutes
•Turn them back on in the same order (connection box first, then modem/Wi-Fi router)
•If you cannot connect to the nbn network after restarting your equipment and no outage is shown, contact your phone and internet provider for further assistance.
