Northern Territory Police are calling for the victims of a series of alleged indecent assaults to come forward after a man was arrested on Mitchell St.
About 2.10am, Darwin officers arrested a 33-year-old man near Monsoons bar.
They allege they witnessed indecently assaulting a number of women along the popular Top End party strip.
Northern Watch Commander, Acting Senior Sergeant Kaye Pemberton, said the man was seen walking up and down Mitchell St randomly grabbing unknown women on the backside.
The man was arrested, with one of his alleged victims remaining at the scene to make a statement to police.
Police believe up to at least six women were assaulted by the man, and have called on them to come forward and make a statement in relation to the incident.
“[He] will be charged later today and we just want to make sure that he is held to account for all his actions that took place during the early hours of Sunday morning,” Acting Senior Sergeant Pemberton said.
“The woman was upset and supplied a statement in relation to his behaviour, which (was) totally inappropriate.
“We want to know whether or not he was doing stuff prior to his arrest at about 2.10am, say from about 1.30am onwards.
“We want anybody to come forward about anything they saw on Mitchell St that they felt was inappropriate.”
Women or other witnesses are urged to contact NT Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000 and quote job number P25052301.
