Peggy Rock, Shane Warford, among NTFL’s star junior award winners
The best up and coming junior players from across the NTFL have been rewarded for their efforts, with one junior picking up her third consecutive best and fairest award. See the winners.

A Buffaloes young gun secured the under-18s top player accolade, while a Nightcliff junior has added yet another best and fairest award to her cabinet.
Peggy Rock has been one of rising stars for Nightcliff for the past few years winning best and fairests at under-14s level in the past and now adding an under-16s award to haul.
Nightcliff’s Peggy Rock enjoyed a remarkable run in the under-16s girls division and backed up her previous success at under-14’s level with her third consecutive best and fairest.
Her ability to win the ball and consistently perform at a high level was pivotal in her charge to 22 votes, beating a strong challenge from Daisha Daly of Wanderers.
Saints’ Kayla Ilett was the leading goal scorer in the Under 16 Female division, with an impressive 28 goals across the season.
On the boys side it was Aaron McWilliams from St Mary’s who came away with 19 votes to win the Hickman Medal, with stellar showings in Rounds 6, 9 and 18 to fend off Gabriel Flesfadar.
Owen Campbell from Palmerston finished as the leading goal kicker in this division with 22 goals, demonstrating his goalscoring prowess.
In the under-18s Southern Districts’ Cate Twaddle was the best in her division with 24 votes born from her a consistent season.
She beat Daly as well as Jorja Davey from Palmerston, who finished with 13 and 11 votes respectively while Ilett scored 18 goals to secure a second goal scoring medal.
The Darwin Buffaloes Shane Warford claimed the under-18s men’s Best and Fairest with 17 votes, marking a dominant midfield performance throughout the season.
His crucial votes in rounds 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 15, and 16 gave him a decisive edge over Daniel Murphy from Southern Districts and Saints’ Yanni Stefanidakis, who both finished with 10 votes.
Connor Gallacher was the leading goal scorer in the division, finishing with 34 goals.
In the under-14’s women’s it was another Tiger, Frances Bowden, who won out with 15 votes following in the footsteps of Rock after a few dominant performances.
Alana Finn finished as the leading goal scorer in the division with 13 goals, adding an impressive season for her Southern Districts outfit.
PINT’s Jordi O’Toole edged out Mia Wilson in the Division B, while Tezziema Vincent from Banks finished top of the scoring with nine.
Joseph Mancer dominated the Under 14 boys division, securing the Best and Fairest with a total of 22 votes owing to consistent excellence across the season.
Blake Povey from Southern Districts scored 25 goals to finish as the leading goal kicker.
Wanderers was recognised as the Junior Club of the Year and Lachlan Ammerlaan won the Junior Umpire of the Year, becoming the second youngest to umpire a men’s premier league match.
