Only fully vaccinated on waiting list to receive NT tourism vouchers

Vaccination status will be key for those on the waiting list to receive their $200 NT tourism voucher.

ONLY fully vaccinated Territorians will be eligible for tourism vouchers when round four continues next week.

The clampdown comes as the Government continues its push to vaccinate the Territory against Covid-19.

The next stage of the scheme will be released to locals on the waitlist – and vaccination status will be key to securing one of the prized $200 vouchers.

Territorians on the waiting list will be contacted soon to confirm their vaccination status.

They will be required to upload their Covid-19 Australian Government vaccination information to receive their voucher.

Priority will be given to applicants based on the initial registration timing.

Tourism and Hospitality Minister Natasha Fyles said the Government’s priority is protecting vulnerable Territorians and keeping the community safe while supporting tourism operators.

“The requirement to be fully vaccinated will further safeguard vulnerable Territorians throughout our regions and communities,” she said.

“This round of Territory Tourism vouchers has already contributed to more than $4.4m to the Territory economy in gross sales.

“As of 5 November, 14,642 vouchers have been released and 10,125 have been redeemed.”

Territorians who receive a voucher are required to book within 14 days and complete their booking by January 31.

The voucher scheme has been one of the Government’s most popular Covid-action measures. When subscriptions for the fourth round opened in October they were snaffled-up within two minutes.

As with previous rounds, incentives remain for those who travel more than 400km on a single journey, with a $200 bonus claim redeemable.

Announcing the first phase of the fourth round last month, Minister Fyles said by November every Territorian will have had the opportunity to be vaccinated.

The scheme was fully subscribed during the first three rounds and for every $200 voucher, an average of $389.19 was spent inside local businesses.
