Replay: NTFL - Round 18 - Waratah vs Nightcliff

Alongside the men’s finals we will also be streaming every game of the senior women’s finals series - LIVE and EXCLUSIVE for you.

All four finals matches will be played on Saturday at TIO Stadium.

Kicking off the weekend is an elimination final between the women of Waratah and their St Mary’s counterparts will face off from 12.30pm.

St Mary’s had the better of the encounter last time out with young Emma Stark nailing three goals and Isabelle Porter has been a real leader in the forwards.

But the Waratah women should never be counted out. Lisa Roberts and young gun Annabel Kievet have been sure standouts and will be looking to swing the ball in the direction of Lisa Miceli up forward.

Then from 2.30pm it’s the intimidating Darwin Buffettes up against reigning premiers PINT in the qualifying final.

Its last season’s grand final rematch and both sides will be pumped to prove themselves after another long regular season.

Buffettes have had the better of the encounters this season with captain Kylie Duggan in fine form while Molly Althouse has perhaps been the player of the season.

PINT have had their own ups and downs but a strong win in their last outing over St Mary’s set the side up well with the double chance.

They have the likes of Cassie Henderson, Hillary Grubb and Reni Hicks in their outfit who can all do some damage.

MEN’S PREMIER LEAGUE

THE NTFL finals are finally upon us and we will be livestreaming all the NTFL finals LIVE and EXCLUSIVE for you.

The first Men’s Premier League final takes off at 4.30pm in a do or die elimination final between Wanderers and Southern Districts.

Districts have come into some strong form of late while Wanderers know they need to show up in a big way to stay in the competition.

Wanderers have had the better of the match-ups this season with the likes of Brodie Newman, Lloyd Johnston, Mitchel Taylor and Braedon McLean standing tall in the Muk Muks backline.

However, after some strong results in recent weeks, Districts will know they’re more than ready to take on their rivals.

The Crocs have a side full of talent including Michael Bowden who is among the top possession getters of the season.

Captain Dean Staunton is also in fine nick while goal scorers Leigh Williams, Beau Schwarze and Jonathon Ross will be looking to cause plenty of damage.

It’s all or nothing for both sides with the loser knocked out of the competition.

Also at TIO Stadium from 7pm is a face-off between St Mary’s and Waratah in what is expected to be a fiery qualifying final.

Both sides have had massive seasons but a win here to keep their double chances alive is of the upmost importance.

St Mary’s will come in with more confidence – winning the head-to-head consistently this season – including a massive 19.13 (127) to 7.7 (49) win in round 16.

Saints have the competition’s leading goal scorer in Jackson Calder who has 58 majors to his name this season and a hunger that only grand final redemption can fill.

Behind him is an all-star midfield including captain Nate Paredes, Jack Kluske, Dylan Landt and Nick Yarran.

Waratah will be eyeing the win knowing it will lift their chances of premiership glory to the next level.

They have a tough midfield that has propelled them to the top of the competition including co-captains Brodie Carroll and Robbie Turnbull as well as star recruit Jayden Magro.

X-factor man Kurtley Silver and their understated defence will also be crucial for the Tahs’ title chances.

The Nightcliff men are also in the finals hunt but will be taking the first week off after finishing on top.

Head of AFLNT Sam Gibson said he’s thrilled more of the highly anticipated finals across the NTFL grades will be available to audiences nationwide.

“It is exciting we are able to provide the broader community the opportunity to enjoy some of the NT’s exciting brand of finals football this season, both in the Territory and interstate,” he said.

“I want to thank the NT News for their continued support of Territory footy and for livestreaming all Men’s Premier League matches with addition of the women’s finals this season.”
