NT Police arrest 31-year-old woman over alleged stabbing death of partner in Alawa

A woman has been arrested after the alleged stabbing death of a man believed to be her partner in the Northern Suburbs overnight. Read the latest.

A 31-year-old woman has been arrested in relation to the alleged stabbing death of a man, as well as an attack on another woman, in the Northern Suburbs overnight

The Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre responded to reports both a man and woman had allegedly been stabbed at a home on Alawa Crescent in Alawa about 9.40pm on Friday.

The man was reported to be unconscious at the time.

Police and St John Ambulance found the 33-year-old man in a critical condition with stab wounds to his legs.

A 51-year-old woman was also taken to Royal Darwin Hospital with stab wounds to her leg.

Paramedics started CPR on the man, but he was later declared dead in hospital.

The 31-year-old female alleged offender was arrested at the scene.

Police said she was believed to be the man’s partner and is known to the 51-year-old woman.

A crime scene was declared and investigations are ongoing.

The alleged offender remains in police custody with charges expected to be laid at a later date.
