Milikapati: Person in custody after man dies on Tiwi Islands
A man has been arrested in relation to the death of a 59-year-old on the Tiwi Islands. NT Police received reports the man had been allegedly assaulted before his death.

A man has been arrested in relation to the death of a 59-year-old on the Tiwi Islands.
About 10.40am Sunday, St John Ambulance received a call reporting that the man had been assaulted at Milikapati and was unconscious.
Staff from the local clinic attended and CPR was performed but the man was declared deceased at the scene, NT Police said in a statement on Sunday afternoon.
A person of interest was identified and police officers from Pirlangimpi and Wurrumiyanga, who were called out to provide assistance with the community, were informed.
On their way to Milikapati, officers from Wurrumiyanga located the person of interest and he has been arrested and taken into custody.
No charges have been laid as of Sunday evening.
