Merlin Darwin Triple Crown: Supercars to return to Darwin in 2022

Revheads will be able to get their motorsport fix when the Merlin Darwn Triple Crown makes its return to town.

THREE days of non-stop motorsports action are on the agenda when the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown makes its return in 2022.

Next year’s program will run from June 17-19 and promises to be breathtaking, and include Supercars, Australian Superbikes, S5000 and Combine Sedans.

In exciting news for fans of all things drag racing, the 2022 event will feature two nights of high-octane action, including the finals of the Australian Top Fuel Championship. And for the first time in the event’s history, the 2022 Triple Crown will become the official Indigenous Round of the Supercars championship.

Organisers are working with Traditional Owners to deliver a Larrakia flavour for the event.

“Every year the Merlin Darwin Triple Crown draws thousands of people to the Territory to soak up three days of motorsports action and our beautiful dry season weather,” Major Events Minister Natasha Fyles said.

“This year the Triple Crown attracted more than 38,000 attendances with the biggest program ever. Nitro Up North was particularly popular and drew a record Friday night crowd.

“Next year we are on track to see similar results, with a program offering just as much fast-paced entertainment for all ages.”
