Darwin kids got to celebrate Halloween like never before, dressing up in their spookiest and most creative outfits for the big event.
City of Darwin’s Halloween Haunted House Disco at the Malak Community Centre saw plenty of kids and families go through for an evening of fun and frights.
The event was hosted by Waters Ward elected members councillors Kim Farrar and Sylvia Klonaris, who both hoped to see the event extend long into the future.
“What we wanted to do was do something different in our ward and bring something positive for all the families to come along and enjoy,” Ms Farrar said.
“I’m very pleased, and want to give credit to the staff who have made this very successful, it’s nice to see so many families turn up.”
The free event had everything from face-painting to a haunted house disco.
Councillor Sylvia Klonaris said she hoped the event had brought the community together.
“This is a great initiative for our area, we’ve not done this before and hopefully it will be the start of something for years to come,” she said.
“It’s a free event that engages people to participate and get to know each other, while bringing our diverse community together.”
