Fab Alice entering its ‘glitter era,’ returning to Alice Springs next year
An iconic festival – which is bringing a big international star to the Red Centre – is also entering its ‘glitter era,’ the festival director has confirmed. Find out more.
An international drag queen is making their Red Centre debut at an Alice Springs festival, which is “shaking it off” and entering “our glitter era” ahead of its return in 2026.
Fab Alice festival director Stuart Ord made the comments as tickets went on sale for next year’s iteration of the festival, held from March 26 to 29.
“Fab Alice celebrates inclusivity and creativity in the heart of Australia, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone back for three days of magic, mischief and pure joy,” he said.
Festival stalwarts such as the comedy and cabaret night, the drag queen bingo, and more, are making their returning, alongside some new – and international – faces.
Filipino drag queen Taylor Sheesh will make their Red Centre debut at the festival next year, bringing their show to Alice Springs for one night only.
Another new event is the “outback shout,” billed as a “rip-roaring, ridgy-didge Friday-knock-offs party packed with drag queens, frothies, flannies, chook raffles, trivia, and belly laughs”.
“With Taylor Sheesh, The Huxleys, Outback Shout and more surprises to come, fabALICE 2026 is shaping up to be our biggest and boldest festival yet,” Mr Ord said.
Fab Alice celebrates the film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert – an iconic Australian movie which chronicles the bus journey of two drag queens and a transgender woman through Australia, with their trip ending in Alice Springs.
Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased online.
