New retailers: What's open, coming to Grand Central

IN THE past few weeks a number of new retailers have opened at Grand Central, with more to come by the month's end. Here is a list of what's new.

NEW stores are continually popping up at Grand Central Shopping Centre, despite the expansion being complete 12 months ago.

In the past few weeks a number of new retailers have opened, with more to come by the month's end.

Here is a list of what is new at Grand Central.

1. Rivers

Rivers moved into Grand Central last week, after moving out of the CBD.

It closed up its store on Ruthven Street and opened on the ground floor of the shopping centre near the Margaret St entrance.

Rivers previously had a store in the centre, but moved out in 2009.

The national retailer offers Australian designed footwear and clothing.

2. Happytel

Phone Adore reopened as Happytel late last month.

With more than 20 years of experience and 65 stores across Australia and New Zealand, Happytel is the place to go for the latest phone and tablet accessories and repairs.

3. Autograph

Autograph has recently opened on level two of the shopping centre, in the original section of the building.

The fashion brand specialises in designing, fitting and styling the latest fashion for the curvy woman.

It designs clothing specifically to suit and flatter women's curves.

4. Kathmandu

Kathmandu will open later this month, after moving from Ruthven St to level two of the centre.

Kathmandu is a transnational chain of retail stores, selling travel and adventure outdoor apparel and equipment.

General manager for marketing and online Paul Stern said the company was delighted to be opening its new store.

"Grand Central is in the heart of Toowoomba CBD and an ideal location for our existing loyal customer base," he said.

"Kathmandu is a global brand with iconic status and the new store will allow us to better showcase our distinctive product, and meet customer demand."

5. Toymate

Toymate is opening at Grand Central this Saturday, and when it does it will be the biggest toy store in Toowoomba.

The 1200sqm store will stock thousands of popular brands and 2019's top sellers including Lego, Barbie, Play-Doh and Fisher Price.

To celebrate, Toymate is throwing a huge two day grand opening extravaganza from 9am on August 10 and 11.

Toymate is opening on level one of the centre, with two entries near the Athletes Foot and Lowes.
