ANOTHER four cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed by Queensland Health in the Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service area.
It brings the total number of cases across the region to 21.
The new cases are split between Toowoomba, Kingaroy, and Warwick.
Darling Downs Health said the community can rest assured that contact tracing is underway, "which means we are directly contacting people considered to be at risk".
"Please follow the recommended advice from us and our federal counterparts in regards to social distancing, public gatherings, and general wellbeing.
"Critically, make sure you are practicing good hygiene and staying home if you're sick. Washing your hands properly and often is the gold standard of health advice that can help prevent viruses from entering your body."
The rise in cases comes amid public fear today's local government elections could spread the virus further.
Of the remaining 17 cases in the region, 15 have been confirmed in Toowoomba, one in Kingaroy, and one in Warwick.
Toowoomba man Garry Kirstenfeldt became the Darling Downs' first victim of the virus on Wednesday, after contracting COVID-19 on the Voyager of the Seas cruise ship.
The four new cases were among 70 confirmed by Queensland Health this morning.
The majority of cases are from patients who have travelled overseas, or have had direct contact with a confirmed case who had travelled overseas.
