A BURGEONING part of Toowoomba could get another childcare centre.
The Toowoomba Regional Council is yet approve an application from Australian Childcare Solutions to build an early learning facility in Darling Heights, which it received last week along with noise impact, traffic, landscape and stormwater reports.
In its application, the company said it planned to create the childcare facility on the intersection of Platz and Stenner Sts, with a focus on "varied play spaces" and representing "Toowoomba lifestyle and culture".
The new centre's outdoor and indoor play areas will feature interactive sound/music elements along the pathways, extended arbour structure for shade to the sandpit, a timber bridge, a dry creek bed for play, overland flow projections, a water pump, custom fort structure and log tepee.
The centre will also include 16 car parking spaces for staff and visitors, and the traffic impact of the centre is expected to be worth 1.6% of the overall movement along Stenner St.
Darling Heights saw moderate population and wage growth in 2016 Census, but is serviced by just two childcare centres.
The council is expected to make a decision on the application this month.
