Haydn Long from Flight Centre said the post-Christmas holiday period traditonally leads into some of the year’s busiest periods for international bookings.

“Sales activity is certainly hotting up, as we’re seeing with this particular promotion from Virgin. We’re now staring to see some attractive offers, which is great news for travellers as they look to lock in their holiday plans for later in the year,” she said.

Long expected there will be further good news to come for travellers as airlines look to fill their seats as capacity continues to increase.

“Pre-Covid, airlines competed very aggressively on price. When one airline came out with a highly attractive offer, others tended to follow suit with eye-catching deals of their own. Hopefully, this trend continues,” she said.

“The best advice we can give is keep an eye out for the specials and lock in a deal as soon as you can because fares tend to get more expensive the closer you get to departure.”

Meanwhile, Virgin flights to Bali have also been reduced to $449 from both Adelaide and the Gold Coast.

Return flights to Fiji and Queenstown from Brisbane will cost from $499 each flight, while flights to Cairns to Haneda (Tokyo) are now from $679.

Those wishing to book flights must be travelling between January 29 to November 30, with some of the most popular hot spots all included.
