Sydney woman Nirmeen Noufl has been accused of committing one of the city’s most horrific crimes, with police alleging she murdered and dismembered her husband over a suspected love triangle .

Ms Noufl’s image can be revealed for the first time following her arrest last week.

According to police, Ms Noufl allegedly killed her husband Mamdouh during a heated argument in their Greenacre home.

She is accused of using an electric saw to cut his body into pieces and disposing of the remains in public bins across Sydney’s southwestern suburbs.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Mamdouh’s death was initially treated as a missing person case, with alleged new evidence only coming to light after a joint investigation by NSW Police and the NSW Crime Commission under Strike Force Tannerie which led to Ms Noufl’s arrest.

Those who knew Ms Noufl were left stunned, including a local business worker who had last seen her a couple of months ago.

“She was nice, friendly … I honestly have no idea what her business was,” said the woman, adding that she had only ever seen Ms Noufl and her daughter, never Mr Mamdouh.

Police sources suggest the motive behind the crime may have been an international love triangle.

It is alleged Ms Noufl discovered her husband had a girlfriend in Egypt, to whom he had been sending money.

Police claim she also used cleaning chemicals to erase any trace of the crime.

Homicide Squad Commander Danny Doherty described Ms Noufl as a woman who “manipulates people and manipulates the truth”.

It is further alleged that after the murder, Ms Noufl used her husband’s social media accounts to contact his Egyptian girlfriend, demanding the return of the money he had sent.

One close friend of Mr Mamdouh’s described him as a “decent man,” mentioning that he was quiet and focused on his family and business.

“We are shocked,” the friend said. “But what can we do? We don’t have any power or any information.”
