Labor Party Drops Rap Track to Rival the Libs

The Coalition has fired back over a rap-inspired “diss track” released by Labor, claiming it is based on a “highly offensive video” from a British YouTuber.

The deepening saga of cringe rap tracks released by the political parties took another step on Thursday afternoon, after Tasmanian Labor released a track responding to one issued by the Liberals earlier this week.

The Coalition has since issued a statement, saying Labor’s song and accompanying video “took direct inspiration for the song and imagery from a highly offensive video by British YouTuber Harry Lewis, known as WS2 or Wroe to Shaw”.

The original video by the YouTuber includes lyrics such as: “Your family must have some r-tarded genes”, “each brother is more r-tarded than the other”, and “did you seduce (your girlfriend) with your rape face?”.

Labor has now removed the controversial diss track from its social media after this masthead revealed it existed on social media, with a campaign spokesperson saying: “This content was not authorised by the national ALP campaign. It has been removed.”

Labor’s rap response came after the Liberals on Monday launched a track titled “Leaving Labor” on Soundcloud.

Tasmanian Labor has since shared a reel in reply to the Liberals that claims their “diss track was mid, why we’d have to wait three years for it?”

“It’s election time now and you’re still full of sh--, no plan no clue just more of the same,” it says.

Labor’s track takes aim at the opposition for voting against cost of living relief, claiming Peter Dutton was looking after his “rich mates” while showing a picture of Gina Rinehart.

It also attacks the Opposition Leader for his history as health minister, accused him of doing nothing to housing supply, and says his nuclear dream “is barely a pitch”.

“You will make Aussies worse off,” it raps.

Labor’s response comes after the Prime Minister on Monday suggested Labor would not be responding in kind.
