There are 150 House of Representatives seats up for grabs this year. The Coalition needs a net gain of 18 seats to govern in its own right. If Labor suffers a net loss of four seats it will lose its majority.
Polls going into election day showed Australia might be heading towards a hung parliament and the prospect of a minority government.
