Realestate.com.au allows more buyers to view listed properties, ensuring vendors achieve the

best possible price, says leading sales agent Braden Menzies.

``I would never sell my own home without being on realestate.com.au,’’ said Mr Menzies,

director of Real Estate Central.

``The first thing you learn in real estate is that you can’t sell a secret. The more people that

know (that a property) is for sale, the more competition (there is) and the higher the (selling)

price.

``If you want to sell a property, (realestate.com.au) is the best place to go because that’s

where all the buyers are.

``It’s like insurance for selling your house.’’

Mr Menzies said realestate.com.au had opened up the Northern Territory property market to

buyers interstate and overseas, with many using the platform’s search function to identify

houses for sale that were close to their school of choice.

He said realestate.com.au was responsible for generating most buyer inquiries, with other

marketing methods failing to achieve the same successful results.

REA Group’s reputation as a market leader and trusted source of information was integral to

its popularity, he said.

``If someone’s selling a 6, 7, 8 or $900,000 house, they want to know they are in safe hands,’’

Mr Menzies said.

``Realestate.com.au is safe and secure, in terms of they (the REA Group) know what they are

doing.

``They’ve got the (property) market covered. They were the first ones (to offer an online p),

they’ve got the experience and they know how the consumer shops.’’

While current market conditions had led to some NT vendors opting to sell off market, Mr

Menzies said those that did not use realestate.com.au were risking considerably higher

sales prices.

``Most people (sellers) are chasing the highest price and it’s very hard to get that premium

price without competition (created through realestate.com.au),’’ he said.
