My passion for Queensland and Origin still strong

IT’S hard to ever imagine another event that I will get as passionate about as the State of Origin.

IT'S hard to ever imagine another event that I will get as passionate about as the State of Origin.

I've never owned a whole lot of sporting memorabilia, but one I can distinctly remember is the maroon jumper I had as a youngster, adorned with a cane toad.

The only setting in which these pests are revered, mind you.

That jumper might be long in the past, but my passion for the mighty Queensland Maroons runs deep.

I'll often lose interest through a standard NRL game, but when it comes to that almighty clash you can bet I'm glued to every minute.

And after a decade of dominance, I, like main die-hard supporters I imagine, am a bit concerned how Sunday night's game is going to play out.

Can we really beat this Blues side with a home crowd behind them?

I'm not so sure.

But we live in hope, because those years of dominance simply isn't enough.

And of course who wouldn't want Queensland to win, so we get a thrilling conclusion at Suncorp Stadium next month.
