Have you ever wondered just how much your body can take when you eat incredibly spicy food, all while competing against a clock?
You can find out on Sunday when the Murphys Creek Chilli Festival returns to raise money for our flooded communities.
With 100 per cent of profits going to Rural Aid, event co-ordinator Jason O’Connor said there was something for everyone.
“We have the spiciest products at the event, but for those who are not as adventurous, there will also be lots to eat and drink with an array of street food trucks to cater for all,” he said.
“The all-important and hilarious eat challenges will entertain all, even if you’re not game enough to enter.”
At 12.30pm, Blowinsmoke and Barbecue will host a new spicy sausage sizzle eating competition with five guests and their stomachs put to the test.
“In three minutes, you will need to east as many handmade, thick, chilli laced wagyu sausages on bread smothered in reaper juju sauce,” Mr O’Connor said.
“East as many as you can in three minutes, wait two minutes and not vomit, heave or faint for your chance to win a prize worth over $200.
“There is a death waiver to be signed … there’s no milk and no running away.”
Guests can sign up for the competition at noon at the red tent.
The Murphys Creek Chilli Festival will be held at 16 Jessie Lane on Sunday from 10am to 3pm.
