GRAND Central Shopping Centre was certainly a lively place to be when Toowoomba residents from a range of cultures took over the centre for the Toowoomba Multicultural Expo.
The ground floor was abuzz with people, many in traditional dress, vying for a good view of the stage performances, which included dancers from Oakey's Cook Island group, indigenous performers and even ARIA Award-winning country music artist Troy Cassar-Daley.
There wasn't a great deal more room to move on the upper level as people enjoying lunch in the food court lined the balcony to see what all the cheering was about.
The day was organised by Mercy Coomunity Services with the help of Grand Central Shopping Centre stylist Carolyn Taylor-Smith, who put on some fantastic multicultural fashion parades throughout the event.
Apart from being a brilliant chance to celebrate Toowoomba's diverse community, the day also provied a chance to fundraise for for the Mercy Community Services Refugee School Starter Program.
