UPDATE: One person has been taken to hospital after a five-vehicle crash on the Warrego Hwy on the western outskirts of Toowoomba.
The crash occurred near the Gowrie Junction turn-off at Cotswold Hills about 9.15am.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said the patient only suffered minor injuries and was transported to Toowoomba Hospital.
It is also believed a number of children were on board at least one of the vehicles. However, none of the children were injured.
The highway remained open under police control while emergency crews attended the scene.
The crash highlights the importance for motorists to be extra vigilant while driving on wet and slippery roads.
Drivers are reminded to turn their headlights on in low light and foggy conditions and to allow extra braking distance in the wet.
