A motorcycle caught on fire in a road crash north of Toowoomba

A motorcyclist was transported to Toowoomba Hospital following a road crash in Kilbirnie on Sunday morning.

The motorcycle caught on fire on Goombungee-Kilburnie Road near Schmalings Street and started a grass fire.

The fire was safely extinguished by a Queensland Fire crew by 10.57am.

Two paramedic crews were called to the scene at 10.27 on Sunday morning.

The male motorcyclist was transported to Toowoomba Hospital and is being treated for chest and abdominal injuries following the crash.

The adult patient was transported in a stable condition, a QAS spokesman said.
