Latrobe Terrce crash: Heavy traffic in Geelong as two trucks collide

Two trucks have collided along Mercer St causing traffic chaos for peak hour commuters.

A person has been freed from their vehicle following a collision between two trucks on Latrobe Terrace.

The crash, about 8.30am in Geelong West on Tuesday, caused traffic chaos along Mercer St and Latrobe Terrace with cars being diverted.

Drivers reported delays as emergency services responded to the incident.

A Fire Rescue Victoria spokeswoman said crews responded about 8.35am following calls to triple-0 reporting a road accident involving multiple vehicles.

“Crews arrived on scene in five minutes to find two trucks involved in an accident resulting in occupants of one of the vehicles being trapped and requiring extrication,” she said.

“Firefighters worked to remove the occupants of the impacted truck bringing the incident under control by 8:48am.”

An Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman said two patients were taken to Geelong hospital.

Traffic was also reportedly heavy along Church St.
