TOOWOOMBA Regional Council is assessing a development application to build a two-stage day hospital and set of medical suites on Goggs St, Toowoomba City.
Under the first stage, the existing opthalmology clinic on the western boundary of the 20 Goggs St site will be retained, while the new three-storey building is built around the premises.
With stage one complete, the opthalmology clinic would relocate inside the new building, and the old building would be removed.
The development will include "substantial areas of periphery landscaping and shade trees throughout carparking areas", documents lodged with council said.
Stage one will include 47 on-site carparks and 66 in stage two.
The total development will span a site area of 3825 sq m.
