LES and Coral McCoy couldn't be happier with their second consecutive Country Grand Champion win.
It's been a tough year for the couple, with Les fighting poor health, but their Vale View garden obviously provided some welcome therapy if the results are anything to go by.
Mr McCoy said they had finally settled on sticking with the tried and true formula that won them last year's trophy.
"We haven't really changed anything this year, but we did add annual beds in underneath a lot of the trees," Mr McCoy said.
"Apart from a late frost that browed off the grass a bit, we had a good year."
The extra touch of colour certainly made more difference than expected and the results were a beautifully structured, sweeping landscape, positively awash with bright colours.
Some of the more recent additions are now coming into their own, with plants reaching maturity and filling out the landscape, including their water feature and a set of three pergolas surrounded by beautiful plantings.
Garden enthusiasts will also be pleased to note that flowering plants at Vale View this year didn't come as unseasonably early as Toowoomba's, so they should continue to be in great shape for the duration of Toowoomba Carnival of Flowers.
