BREAKING: A massive high-rise development in suburban Toowoomba faces another milestone this week.

Bernoth Holdings wants to build a residential high-rise on Alderley St, South Toowoomba.

It was approved by Toowoomba Regional Council in early 2011, but works have yet start.

The developer secured a two-year extension in May 2015 due "challenging post-GFC and the market readiness for a project of this nature".

"Further time is required to allow the developer sufficient time to substantially commence the project," the developer told Toowoomba Regional Council in May 2015.

Bernoth Holdings has applied for another extension, which councillors will consider in committee meetings this week.
