UPDATE: One person is dead after the car they were driving collided with a cattle truck west of Chinchilla on the Warrego Hwy.
The man, believed to be 33 years of age, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. There was no one else in the vehicle.
The driver of the truck was not injured.
The Warrego Hwy remains closed 27km west of Chinchilla.
Traffic is currently being diverted around the crash site and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
1.45PM: A cattle truck and car have collided on the Warrego Hwy west of Chinchilla.
The collision occurred 27km west of Chinchilla at Columboola about 1.45pm.
There are believed to be people trapped in the crash wreckage. Emergency services are using hydraulic cutting equipment to free the trapped motorist.
Emergency services are on their way to the incident.
The Warrego Highway is blocked in both directions.
