A man has been flown to hospital after he was injured in a quad bike rollover.

The Toowoomba-based LifeFlight Surat Gas Aeromedical Service helicopter rescue team was called to a private property in the Toowoomba region on Sunday, about 5.15pm.

Landing the chopper on a nearby paddock, the pilot managed to land just before the sun set.

Crews from the Queensland Ambulance Service were also called to the scene before the patient was transferred to the care of the LifeFlight critical care doctor and QAS flight paramedic.

The male patient aged in his 50s, sustained chest injuries and required further treatment, so he was flown to Toowoomba Hospital.
