Man admits to crazy afternoon of driving around Toowoomba

A MAN charged with driving while drunk around Toowoomba, knocking a motorcyclist off his bike and crashing into a house intends to plead guilty to all charges.

Nicholas William Parsons, 24, was not in Toowoomba Magistrates Court when his charges were mentioned but he had written to the court seeking an adjournment.

Magistrate Kay Ryan read from his letter in which he explained he had lived in Caboolture for the past two years and asked that all charges be transferred to the Caboolture Magistrates Court where he had other matters pending.

He said he intended to plead guilty to all charges which included two counts of dangerous driving while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, driving while under the influence, evade police, obstructing police and possessing a dangerous drug.

Police claim Parsons had been driving on the New England Highway at speed about 1.20pm, July 29, on the wrong side of the road, swerving and clipping a motorcycle.

He was stopped by police deploying a tyre deflation device but he had then allegedly driven on only to crash into a vacant house on Gregory St.

Ms Ryan adjourned the case to the Caboolture court on August 30 for sentence.
