Grand Central marketing manager Melissa Shaw said there was a wide range of stores in-centre to find those back-to-school bargains.

Ms Shaw said Grand Central also created a series of workshops and services that would have you back enjoying your holidays in no time.

"We're introducing our first ever Contact Bar from today, which will run until January 21. Parents can get their child's books covered for as little as a gold coin donation per book, with 100% of the proceeds being donated to Hope for our Children," she said.

"There are also several fun and interactive workshops and guided tutorials for students to choose from including workshops to decorate your own library bag, style up your shoes, personalise your pencil case, or create a memo board. 

"The Athlete's Foot are even running a workshop perfect for the little ones attending school for the first time, on how to tie your laces."
