A LIGHTNING strike in a storm this afternoon sparked a fast-moving grassfire at Hodgson Vale.

A LIGHTNING strike in a storm this afternoon sparked a fast-moving grassfire at Hodgson Vale.

Two Rural Fire Service crews responded to the property on Hodgson Vale Rd about 1.50pm with reports the strike ignited a grassy paddock.

The crews established a fire break and had the blaze under control by 2.20pm.

It had burned through wooden posts within the contained area.

There was no threat to any property.
