THE wait is almost over - Vapiano will open its doors in Toowoomba tomorrow.

There has been hype surrounding the opening since the chain announced it would call Grand Central Shopping Centre home.

Vapiano offers a range of authentic Italian flavours as well as an extensive drinks list, serving craft beers, wines and cocktails.

In each Vapiano restaurant pasta, pizza dough, sauces, salad dressing, and dolci are created fresh in-house daily.

Owner Will Cooke said he was thrilled to be opening in Toowoomba.

"We are a little nervous but very excited," he said.

"Toowoomba is a vibrant city and we just thought it was the right opportunity to go regional. The development QIC has produced is pretty special here and we wanted to be part of it.

"We have had such a great reaction on social media and all the support and feedback we have gotten so far has been really positive."

The store has outdoor seating and a light, airy European vibe.

There are national firsts for the Toowoomba store and they include a cashless payment system and an ordering app for takeaway and eventually home delivery.
