OUR SAY: In between the showers and associated rain delays I was able to enjoy some fantastic tennis yesterday.

On court at the Toowoomba Regional Tennis Centre - USQ the Hutchinson Builders Toowoomba International was an event of the highest quality.

An event I urge every resident from the Darling Downs to attend at least once.

Unfortunately you've missed your chance this year but it'll be back around sooner then you think.

The thing that amazed me most about the tournament was the high calibre tennis on show.

Drawing Australian and international players to the Garden City it is arguably the best tennis I have seen outside of the Grand Slams broadcast on TV.

I also enjoyed hearing how much the players love Toowoomba and its tennis faithfuls.

We all know just how great our city is but it's nice to know others see that beauty.

It's an event that encourages 'local participation' as well.

Yesterday's Blush luncheon, headlined by former Aussie star Jelena Dokic, helped raise funds for the fight against cancer and there's other popular events.

This year's Corporate Challenge was rained out last Friday but I'm told it's always fun - I think I might try put a team together for next year.
