My name is Keesha Charles, and I am a proud Githabul woman from the Bundjalung Nation.

My mob is from northern NSW and southern Queensland.

I am very proud of my country that my ancestors were first on and that we take pride in our beautiful land.

I believe that January 26 is a day that everyone celebrates in their own way, and no

one should be judged on how they celebrate.

I have experienced opportunities that not many Indigenous women have, and I am very proud to have been the one to experience them.

I have been privileged to share my culture and where my mob comes from and share my

achievements and qualifications that I have completed through help of Indigenous studies,

past teachers and family.
